BY MY SPIRIT
Zech.4:6; "Not by might nor by power; but by My Spirit saith the Lord."
The Eiffel Tower; The Golden Gate Bridge; The
Empire State Building and many more exquisite man made projects.
The Grand Canyon; Niagara Falls; The Great Lakes; The winding
Mississippi River; The expansive Pacific and Atlantic Oceans ; The Rocky
Mountains; The Allegheny Mountains; Yellowstone with all of its mysteries carved
by the purposeful finger of GOD.
Full and costly Icons
have been erected through the imaginative creativity of man. These
edifices are superb and stand as monuments of steel, stone, iron and brass
which have needled their way into our consciousness to become
what we also intend to portray to others as skill and cunning; knowledge and
truth. They point upward reaching toward the invisible ever longing for the wink
of approval from competition which will never lose.
We live in a
competitive environment, which constantly pulls anyone and everyone into the
"Game" of life. This "Game" has high stakes and pressures the individual
into using "Brute Force" to accomplish its end. This "Brute
Force" steps on others, takes from the weak, steals from the blind and elderly;
and misuses the future generations. All in the attempt to succeed.
Success is POWER. Power shows itself mighty by CONTROLLING the
weak.
Christians are guilty Also.
Personal Testimony: "In the ‘70's when a woman applied and
received a professional or semi- professional position, she was handed a
small half sheet of paper, which she had to sign. (If she wanted the job,
that is.) This piece of paper contracted with the orientee with children,
that work wouldn't be missed because of sickness of that child, because there
was a care-taker who held the responsibility of that child while the orientee
was at work. If you, for any reason, couldn't agree to the contract...NO JOB!
The same was true if you had elderly parents. Put them in a
nursing Home; and Don't Miss Work!
These jobs quickly informed
you that "Family" was no longer top billing. The first rung on the
ladder of success was to stomp on anything and or anyone who would interfere
with your new allegiance...JOB.
In the reference Scripture
this week GOD is telling His people not to abuse one another, nor despise small
beginnings ( in their attempts to gain favor.) [Zech.4:10]
This
advise echoing down through the corridors of time is ageless in its application
and sound in flawless precepts.
It is incomprehensible , when
gazing on man made projects, to think of anyone losing their lives, or being
fired, or giving up contracts, to build this amazing handiwork.
The end product is so magnificent and appealing to the sense
of achievement and power, that the means by which the end is accomplished, is
hardly ever considered, except for the aggrandizement of knowledge and skill.
On the other hand, GOD in His awesome Omniscience, never wrestled
or lost a life to sling the stars into the heavens; nor scoop out the craters
that hold the great Oceans of the World. He never put a life into danger
to send the rushing waters down the Niagara River and to the Falls. Can
you imagine GOD subjecting any man or race of men to digging out the Grand
Canyon? NO! By His Spirit He spoke it into being.
By His Spirit, He created everything, even YOU. He needed no
failed Union contracts, no disgruntled workers, no overbearing task masters.
He in silent penetrating thought spoke that which is and is to come.
Stop and take a look back down your ladder of success.
How many bodies do you see on the rungs of your ladder? How many
individuals have you recklessly tossed aside in your assent? Have you
noticed that the applause is fading? Your parents can't be proud because
of their inability to stand, due to the foot prints on their chest and back.
Do you have friends or acquaintances? Do you ever consider giving a
cup of water in the Name of Jesus?
Where are YOU? It's NOT
by your power, nor by your might...BUT BY MY SPIRIT Saith the LORD.
Looking Forward
See Ya Next Time

NOTEWORTHY:
A note of love in the lunch box.
A mother's love is
forever, and mothers find creative ways to show that love, whether that love is
for a child or a husband or a friend a shut-in or a special picnic.
The food is going to be wonderful but in addition to the food
from the table of GOD's bounty place a special message. A
special message to encourage, bring joy, comfort or love. This is an
opportunity to share The Good News of Jesus Christ.

FRIDAY'S WORD:
aggrandize - ag*gran*dize; verb; to make great,
or greater
(enjoy it as you read today's newsletter)
IN THE MIRROR:
The newsletter with a personal touch, and here I sit again enjoying the
opportunity of sharing some thoughts with you.
In searching my heart
trying desperately to think of what to write my oldest son, being long past due
for a Birthday, and even Holiday greetings, when I realized the problem
was; What can I say and what do I even write him at this point that he doesn't
already know about his father's love, and concern for him?
In this
foible, of which I'm not proud, I thought of how God made it possible through
sixty-six books of the Bible, for all of mankind to know the manifold ways that
our lives can be affected by His great love for us. (John 3:16)
He'll get this letter as a reminder of my love, and I hope to be a
constant contributor of this newsletter, that reminds us of the love that
was in CHRIST JESUS!
