TERThe Christmas Story
Luke 1:26-38
Christianity is being attacked on every side. Pseudo-reality is being propagated at an alarming pace. The enemies of the faith are quick to point to the "Virgin Birth" as impossible, and without merit.
The "Virgin Birth" is one of the most important aspects of the Christian faith. Jesus was brought into His earthly being without the sin of conception. (See Psalm 51:5) The reasoning of the world says that this act is irrelevant, and impossible; but, Christian, don't let anyone's faulty reasoning overtake your faith. Jesus Christ was BORN OF A VIRGIN! This sinless birth qualified Him to be the spotless ‘Sacrificial Lamb', and because of this seemingly insignificant achievement, we are able to relinquish all our sins to His victory.
The virgin Mary was a willing, obedient, and a submitted servant to the Word of GOD. Have you ever wondered why Jesus would come into this world as a helpless baby? Why wouldn't He come as an Eagle? He could have soared high above the troubles of this world. BUT...GOD sent His Son, Jesus, as a human being. The same human being that He, and Jesus created in Genesis. Jesus was born as "The Sacrifice." He didn't ‘become' a sacrifice. Jesus didn't soar above trouble, he walked through them, so that you and I can put them under our feet. GOD could have sent Jesus as a king, just like He sent Moses to live in the Palace of Pharaoh. BUT...He sent him to be born in a manger, through a teenage mother.
The life and death of Christ is punctuated by the Miraculous.
Without the "Virgin Birth", we don't have a Savior. We'd only have another Prophet, or even worse...JUST ANOTHER SINFUL Man; like you and me.
GOD gave Moses a rod that could turn into a large serpent. When he arrived before the Pharaoh, Moses found imitators who also had the ability to turn their sticks into snakes. These tricks were presented by Pharaoh's magicians to minimize the power of GOD. Even today, there are imitators and rationalizers who study to take away the Majesty of GOD through His Son Jesus. They are expedient to remind us of vicissitudes of life which crowd our Faith with "Political Correctness" and injurious hints about the seeming insufficiencies, contradictions and improbabilities of our GOD.
Brothers and Sisters in the Faith, what we must never forget is ‘OUTCOME.' Moses' serpent, which was given to him by GOD, swallowed the snakes conjured up by the Magicians of Pharaoh; Moses and GOD's people eventually walked out of Egypt, just as GOD had told Pharaoh they would.
And, just as GOD's Word delivered His Nation from the hand of Pharaoh; walked through the Red Sea on dry land; ate Manna in the wilderness and brought them into the Promised Land...GOD's Word was placed in the womb of the virgin Mary, to deliver you and me. There is no contradiction in the Word of GOD. The world believed in Moses, but now they're deleting his law from public spectrum.
Christians, don't allow backward thinking to deplete your Faith. The virgin Mary delivered "THE WORD OF GOD" to this sin sick world to, "LET HIS PEOPLE GO!"
"For GOD so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16.
Have a wonderful Christmas Season, and remember, "CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY!"

Christmas is a time of loving, caring, giving and sharing. It can also be seen as such a perfect season because God first gave us Jesus, and it is through His sacrifice for us, we are capable of knowing the real meaning of giving.
It was recently stated that, "While Americans know the cost of everything, they know the real value of nothing."
We all try to give and share as best we can, and while we're giving and doing our finest for the Holiday season, let's remember that God has an immeasurable value system in place that has a way of not only affecting us at Christmas season, but everyday Jesus Christ lives, moves, and has His being within us.
It's my prayer that family, friends, and loved ones will have a Merry Christmas that's "Better than blessed." S.L.C.
