THE GREAT PROVISION

In Luke 2: when Mary  asked the Angel, "How can this be, for I have known no man?"  The Angel of GOD answered; According to the Prophets the Savior would be born in Bethlehem, but Mary was a citizen of Galilee.  If, in deed, this was the Son of GOD, whom all were looking for, then He would have to be born in Bethlehem.   GOD knows our every need!  He, who holds the heart of the King in His hand, allowed for the tax which would bring Mary and Joseph from their home town to the town of Bethlehem, where Jesus, The Christ, was born.  (Provision for prophetic utterances to be fulfilled.)

The only one who knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this was the Son of GOD was Mary. Joseph had a dream , and in that dream he was told to take Mary as  his wife.  Luke 2: (Provision for the line of David.)

Simeon was an old man who wouldn't taste of death until he saw the Savior of the world.  When Mary and  Joseph presented  Jesus to be circumcised on the eighth day of Jesus' life; this old prophet met and examined Jesus and declared that he was," The One", whom he had been waiting for.  Anna, also, who worked in the Temple confirmed that Jesus was," The Christ of GOD."   (Provision that this is The One whom The Prophets had spoken of long ago.)

After forty days and nights of fasting,  Jesus encountered Satan in the wilderness.  There He disrupted and interrupted Satan's plan to continue deceiving the earth, when He thundered "It is WRITTEN!", to all of Satan's stolen suggestions and gifts.  (Provision for the power of deliverance in the lives of ordinary men.)

Jesus turned water in to wine at the wedding feast.  This was His first recorded miracle.  (Provision for cleansing away our sins.)

Jesus Christ fed the thousands from a small lunch meant for a child.  He told  the Samaritan woman about water to drink that would cause her not to be thirsty anymore.  (Provision for life - food and drink.)

Jesus was wounded and bruised and chastised.  (Provision for our transgressions; our iniquity and our peace.)
Jesus was whipped with stripes on His back.     (Provision for our healing) He was nailed in His hands and feet to an Old Rugged Cross.  (Provision for our redemption.)
At this time of year, we look deeply into the gift and the rationale behind it.  Always trying to understand the giver just a little bit better, because a gift is usually the _expression of the giver.

When we look into the manger and see the Christ Child, what  do we   really see?
Do we see a little harmless baby?  Or do we see the Innocent Lamb of GOD who has come to take away the  sins of the world?

It's easy to forget the meaning behind the Manger, BUT!  As Christians, we CAN"T!  The world helps us to celebrate the Baby; but it shuns the same Jesus ,resurrected on the third day with, All Power.

In God's perfection He gave us a little baby wrapped in swaddling clothes laying in a manger.  His gift  provided for every need that mankind would ever experience.

"The Great Provision."

Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
