RESTORATION OF THE KINGDOM
Acts 1: 6-8 Therefore when they had come together they asked Him saying, Lord, will you at this time restore the Kingdom to Israel? And He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority; But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit is come upon you, and you shall be witnesses of me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.'
Look at the headlines! There is wickedness EVERYWHERE. It's quite easy to sit back and wait for all of the wicked to be punished so that each of us can be vindicated. It would be so nice to see Jesus coming then yell, "I told you so!" as we floated up to be with Him. ‘NOT!'
It won't be that way at all. So many of the good people you think will be there, won't be; and so many of those whom you believe won't be there, WILL. That brings up a good subject.
When? Does anyone know when Jesus will come? Can we just have a sign? Do we know the times or the seasons?
If we read our Bibles, we will find that Jesus told His disciples that it wasn't for them to know either the times or the seasons when the Kingdom will be restored. WHY?
With the mind set that we all have, we would naturally think that Jesus wanted to come and find us doing something that we weren't supposed to be doing. So, then we'd have to think that Jesus operates on the element of fierce retribution and surprise.
Another thought for not giving us the time or the seasons could be: Jesus doesn't have room in heaven for everyone so He purposefully wants to leave some of us here.
The last thought we will entertain; Jesus isn't coming back. This is just a hoax.
Clarification: All of the above assumptions are INCORRECT.
According to the scripture this week, Jesus gathered His disciples, gave them commandments and instructed them concerning the Kingdom of GOD. He told them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father. (The Baptism of the Holy Spirit.) This promise from the Father, evidently, would enhance their efforts and ability to carry out the command of Jesus.
This gathering took place after the Resurrection of Jesus. According to Acts, Jesus had been seen alive by His apostles (Disciples) approximately 40 days. It's not hard to imagine that these apostles wanted to see retaliation, rebuke and retribution distributed on all those who denied Christ. It's not hard to imagine that they still held to beliefs that Jesus would build His Kingdom right here on the earth, and of this Kingdom they would have a part. It's not hard to imagine that they all wondered what else could He do? He has shown His power in healing, deliverance, renewing and provision. WHAT ELSE IS THERE? THEY HAD ALL THEY NEEDED IN JESUS.
But, Jesus knew… There's so much more. He didn't want to just take these eleven and the women with Him to live in His Kingdom. He wanted to give every soul an opportunity to receive and/or believe. The way that perfectly created salvation would be offered was through these witnesses.
These witnesses would tell others what they had seen.
NOTE: (These witnesses wouldn't regurgitate information; like a student cramming for exams. These special witnesses would be endowed by the Holy Spirit to preach, teach, exhort, prophesy, edify, and evangelize. Their mission was to witness to Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. )
The Message of Jesus Christ has been preached for more than two thousand years, and it hasn't lost its power in its ability to change lives, heal the broken hearted, set the captives free, the recovering of sight to the blind and to set at liberty those that are bruised.
Residing in these temporary containers, we are pushed toward yearning for a better day. A day in which we can be free of the pain and suffering of this present hour. In this yearning and longing we will have a tendency to continuously look for the signs of the soon coming King of Kings who will deliver us from this present turmoil. BUT…Jesus said that we wouldn't know the times or the seasons. He said that this knowledge is in the authority of the Father. In this information, we should rest and prepare for His soon coming. It does no good to craftily hunt through Revelation looking for a hint of when He is coming. Many have been disarmed of dignity and integrity as they pronounced that Christ is coming at a certain time or season.
Our main objective in this life is to, BE PREPARED. Last week we spoke of the ‘foolish virgins' who weren't prepared for the Bridegroom.
We can also remind ourselves of the foolish servant, who dug a hole and buried the talent, given to him by the Master. Both of these parables were told by Jesus. He is showing us that the most important revelation that any of us could have is…BE PREPARED.
It does the Body of Christ no good to look for the Anti-Christ, and then take a front seat in his kingdom. Our position is "Looking Forward" to our "Soon Coming KING." Yes. . .We have wars and rumors of wars…are you praying? Yes…we have earthquakes in divers places…are you preparing and praying? Yes, children have turned against their parents, and parents against their children, but. . . Are you witnessing and praying? Nations are rising against nations; kingdoms against kingdoms; there are famines and pestilence…Are you preparing, witnessing and praying?
The restoration of the Kingdom is in the hands of the Master Builder. He has the blueprint and He knows the exact time that He will speak it into BEING. Jesus said in John 14, "I go to prepare a place for you." He said that before He even left the earth. Do you believe Him?
Because lawlessness shall abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures until the end shall be saved. And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come.
Looking Forward
See Ya Next Time!

NOTEWORTHY:
LOYALTY TO JESUS.
In a remote province of Galilee at the high point of Roman power,
There appeared a man dressed in peasant garb,
with the calloused hands of a laborer,
Who awakened unprecedented interest by his astonishing words and works.
He was a young man of about 30 years of age.
He had only the elementary schooling of the village synagogue.
He had no political or financial backing.
His itinerate ministry of teaching and healing was of short duration-----About 3 years---
And then he was crucified at the hands of the religious and political authorities, who feared his growing popularity.
Rather than scatter His followers, His death was followed
By a movement of revolutionary impact and power.
The effects of that spiritual explosion remains a major factor in our world today-----
The strongest influence for good and for GOD our world knows.
What do we do with this man Jesus?
If He is not the Son of GOD and Savior of man kind,
Then let us get down to the bitter business of adjusting
to a grim and hopeless world.
If He, is, then let us give Him the full measure of our loyalty and love.

FRIDAY'S WORD: Palms Sunday; will always remind Christians of the palm branches brought to symbolize victory, and used in honor of Christ's triumphant ride entering into Jerusalem.(John 12:13)
IN THE MIRROR:
Ever see it written; "It is life after death, that changes life before death."
I've had those words written over my desk for some time now. Somehow I had a feeling the person that established those words was sharing them in relationship to Christianity.
It's a good time to reflect on the concept of ‘life after death,' as we approach "Resurrection Sunday,"on April 11th, because we are getting ready to celebrate once again the most important event that has taken place in all of human history.
As a Christian I've always needed help with my thinking, and was so glad to learn that I was to ‘have the mind of Christ.' (ref. 1 Cor.2:16; Phil.2:5)Sure helps when it comes to figuring things out when you know they're too large for you to handle!
If we look at Paul in Philippians 1:21, where he says, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain," does it seem odd or is he just expressing his priorities; and then there's James in James 4:14, which reads: "Whereas ye know not what shall be on tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away." Maybe Peter will witness for us in 1 Peter1:3,4: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you." (that "for you" at the end means you and I"
I know how easy it is to think in terms of this life because I live in the same real world as you, but I also realize that this same Jesus that I profess to trust in death is given a much greater honor when I can exercise the privilege of trusting Him in the life I now live as a follower of Him, and His love.
The plan of redemption is going to be carried out just as sure as everything else that God manifested through His Son and our best thinking is not going to change John 10:39 where we're encouraged to lose our life for the express purpose of finding a much higher one in Christ Jesus. S.L.C.
