Subject:REJECTION

Peter 2:7 Therefore to you who believe He is precious ;but to those
who are disobedient,    The Stone which the builders rejected has become the Chief Cornerstone." NKJV

Just the word "Rejection' makes the average person draw back.  It is such a strong force and an embarrassment to the one who is being rejected that many people, once they have tasted the bitterness  of rejection will never do whatever caused this negative  attack  to their worth and esteem.  This will  eventually yield poor  self esteem and a determination never   to let  it  occur again.

Rejection causes  defense mechanisms to be permanently put in place so that  "rejection" is barred from entrance.

People who have these bars up in their lives can be unapproachable; cold; evasive; challenging; abrupt; harsh; inattentive; and even disinterested.  All of these can be used to keep rejection at bay.  To ensure no more hurt.   But, as it keeps hurt from the host, it HURTS AND REJECTS others, thus a circle of PAIN AND MISUNDERSTANDING.

I've heard that in Israel there are many rocks, stones, boulders etc.  It is said to be a very rocky terrain.   Finding the right stone or rock was important to David when he needed five smooth stones to defeat Goliath.  He couldn't use just any stone.  It had to be smooth.   David, through the process of elimination rejected many but chose five.  And even this group had to be subject to the process.  Because only one smooth stone hit Goliath and caused him to fall victim to a young Shepard boy.  The others though rejected for use in the first battle were  advocated and allocated for Goliath's brothers, which would have been just as meaningful.   So, rejection in the primary didn't mean denial in the secondary.

There was a documentary on TBN that showed how the stones in the temple mount in Jerusalem were placed so that each huge boulder,larger than a   man, was permanently built  one upon another without mortar between them.  The stones were made concave and convex on the sides and each adjoining stone fit into it so precisely, it reminded me of Legos toy blocks.  The commentator said that the huge boulders were so close together that you couldn't even fit a dime between them.

Now we'll go on "A-Thinking" journey.  Imagine, if you will, that the workers hewed out one of these most perfect stones, but the chief builder, who has to examine and either certify or reject each stone.  The craftsmen do the same thing to every stone, however, there is a stone that has been rejected and thrown aside by this chief builder.

The same rejected, ridiculed, persecuted, shamed and discarded stone looks on as all others   are chosen.  Then, another builder sees the discarded stone, requests it and it is given gladly even with a chuckle.

The new chief builder sees something that the others couldn't see.  He sees a stone that has weathered the storm of abuse, rejection and shame.  And yet there is so much beauty and strength.  He examines it alone and then he makes the decision..."This is our Chief Cornerstone!"  And that means that every other stone must align itself and conform to this stone.

By now you know that we are referring to Jesus Christ.  To some He is a stumbling  Stone of offense  to others He is The Rock of our Salvation.   But...He's always a Rock!

Jesus has shown us through His life, that being rejected doesn't mean that you must walk around with REJECT written on your clothes, waiting for some poor Innocent that you can tear down.    NO!

Through rejections we must learn to love anyhow.  We must love when we are not loved.  We must give when others steal from us.  We must see value in the refuse of discarded humanity.  We must love one another through our rejected, painful lives.

We must love one another because He first loved us, through all of His rejection and pain he said, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do."  And that statement freed you and me to walk in love.  You may be rejected; but don't pass   it on
Instead...
Keep Looking Forward.
See Ya Next Time

NOTEWORTHY:

A couple of health tips;
Anti cancer foods include Green leafy vegetables and cantaloupe.  Eat foods that are anti - oxidants.  The foods are better for you than the supplements.   Pat Roberts.  He also has a free book if you order it on line at the 700 Club.

Soft drinks that contain "Aspartame" (I'm not sure of the spelling) should be viewed as containing poison.  These soft drinks with this additive can be blamed for mental confusion, stomach problems, headaches, skin disorders and other problems.  It is supposed to take the place of sugar, however, it may also lead to increased eating and overweight.  Pat Robertson 700 club
Anti yeast diet includes;
raw fruit and vegetables.  No cheese, mushrooms, or white bread.  Also you must cut down on sugar because it causes yeast to grow.  - John Hagee

Bishop Joseph Sullivan, of Texas ,   ordained a priest in 1954 , he says that in that time period celibacy was a gift to the community.  It meant that the priest was available to the community in that he had given up marriage and family to work for it.  He said that people today look at celibacy as if you have a problem.  They can't understand why  anyone would give up these pleasures for what they call "nothing." Apples:
If you bite an apple.  It means that you have good teeth.
If you cut an apple first , then eat it , it means that you have a good stomach.
If you swallow the apple whole ...Only you know what that means.   TER

In The Mirror:

Walking in the unity of the Spirit means you can't fully enjoy your health while your brother's still sick, or fully celebrate your successes while he still struggles. There's something about receiving a blessing that makes you want to say to others, "The GOD who brought me through, can bring you through too.!"
