SUBJECT: PAGAN?

This week I exercise a writer's privilege to speak in Editorial - Journalistic Style.  Regarding a certain comment that has been spoken more than once by the News Media and finally our own Evangelists in the media.   The statement that I will editorialize is: "We live in a Pagan Nation."  &   "America is a Pagan Nation."   

I personally have nothing against the Evangelists.  I pray their work in Jesus Christ continues.  Their names are unimportant.  The only thing that I am personally against is the already mentioned statement.

PAGAN?

Lately I've been distressed by the unbelievable News that this Nation - America - has changed .  Now changing isn't bad if the change is for the better, however, people in very high places are saying that "Our Nation is a Pagan Nation."  This distresses me.  And I believe it should distress you also.  Especially when you understand that the people who are saying  this are in charge of giving the world and Christians alike the Word of God.  

When I was young I earned the title of "Wise Old Owl."  It was given to me by my Mother, who said that I would sit and listen to conversations without saying a word.  At the right time I'd question my Mother about what I had heard.  Likewise, listening to world News and then Christian Broadcasting, I have been quiet  and very reflective.  This title, Pagan,  that has been given us makes me want to shout from the roof tops that "WE ARE A CHRISTIAN NATION!"   America is responsible for sending most of the Missionaries all over the world.  These Missionaries are proclaiming Jesus Christ and Him crucified.   America is responsible for feeding the world.  While we are feeding them we are putting into practice the example Jesus gave as He fed the five  thousand and then the four thousand.  America sends medicine all over the world to ease the suffering of disease , and to heal the sick.  Jesus had compassion on them and healed them all.    Jesus said in Matthew's Gospel that if you have done it unto the least of these you have done it unto ME.  He was referring to feeding the poor, visiting the prisoners, and helping the wretched in this life.  Pagans don't do that.  

Since September 11, 2001, the outlook in America has changed.  Prayers have dominated thoughts to the extent that people long to know how to pray.  
Why are we being called Pagans?  A Pagan worships things...Idols; Rocks; Animals; Cars; Homes; Clothes.  Most of us know better than to worship rocks and animals, but what about cars , homes and fine clothes?  There has been a teaching in the last ten years that brings into focus THINGS promoting these THINGS to be the blessings of God, It is a very subtle message that screams, "if you are of God and blessed, you have these THINGS."  And quietly this same message (between the lines) says, "If you don't have these THINGS ___________________" Fill in the blanks.

There was a Prophet in the Old Testament who was hired by a bad King to over throw the Children of Israel., however, he couldn't do it because every plan that he attempted to execute was thwarted..  So he found a prophet and told him to curse God's Children.  The Prophet couldn't do it either.  When  he tried to curse them he would bless them.  He finally told the evil King that he couldn't curse that which God has blessed.  But the Prophet went away and finally figured out how he could curse the people of God.  This is the story where the donkey talked to the Prophet and told him to stop what he was about to do.  The words of the donkey weren't adhered to and the Prophet told the King how to curse the children of God.  

The solution was...TEACH THEM to worship THINGS!  It worked and the Children of God sinned and the blessings of God ceased to flourish and abound.  God's people were taking and giving in marriage PAGANS who also taught the Children of God to bow down and worship THINGS and the unrighteous prophet received the reward from the Evil King.  

The ‘New Age' Prophet has skillfully diverted Holy Worship from God to  Worshiping Holy God for THINGS (This shouldn't be.)  This Gospel is for poor and rich alike.  Jesus never told anyone that if they followed Him they would be Blessed with THINGS.  On the contrary, He told them that they would be persecuted for His Name's sake.

He said that men would revile you and say all manner of evil against you for His Name's sake BUT great is your reward in Heaven.  Jesus promised us INHERITANCE.   Spiritual gifts and Fruit of the Spirit.   He promises Peace in the storm - He said He will keep us in Perfect Peace whose mind is stayed on Him.  He said that He would be with us in trouble and deliver us and honor us with long life will He satisfy us and show us His salvation.  He said that He'd never leave us nor forsake us.  He said that He would not slumber or sleep , but would keep us.  He said that we would have Joy in the morning and sweet sleep at night.  He said that we would over come by the Word of our  Testimony an by  The Blood of  The  Lamb.I believe that these are a few of the blessings of God, and they never mention THINGS.  

Have you ever seen a rusted out car?  The fenders are all brown and flaky.  When you touch it the rust comes off on your hand.  Have you ever seen a moth eaten wool sweater?  When you pick it up it crumbles.  There is no integrity in that garment nor in that car.  God has told us in His Word to lay up treasures in a place where rust doesn't corrode nor moth destroy.   The place is Heaven.  The Treasure is Prayer, supplications, fasting, thanksgivings, praise, and worship.          

Many things have been done in this country by evil people.
Example: No prayer in schools
Remove the TEN COMMANDMENTS from public places.
Changing History Books
Teaching promiscuity and disregard for life
Taking a way Parental Rights to correct their children
Awarding the State custody of children
Etc. Etc. Etc.

Whose the Pagan?  Not even our President is a Pagan.  

I may not be very popular after this Newsletter, but in Jesus' Name I will continue
