SUBJECT: "THE TEN COMMANDMENTS"  

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS HAVE BEEN HEADLINES FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS.  EMBEDDED IN EXODUS 20 WE FIND THE COMMANDMENTS, WHICH WHEN GIVEN TO MOSES BY GOD WERE WRITTEN ON STONE TABLETS BOTH FRONT AND BACK (ACCORDING TO HIS WORD.)  IT IS IMPORTANT FOR EVERY CHRISTIAN TO KNOW WHAT IS BEING HIDDEN BY SOME AND FOUGHT FOR BY OTHERS.  THESE COMMANDS GIVEN BY GOD ARE THE BASIS FOR MOST LAWS ALL OVER THE WORLD, SO LET US READ THEM AND UNDERSTAND.    PASS THEM ON TO THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW.
 
NOTEWORTHY: WRITING AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS ARE DECREASING WITH INCREASING COMPUTER (INTERNET) USE ESPECIALLY NOTED WAS THE EFFECT ON YOUNG CHILDREN.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

And GOD spake all these words saying, I AM the Lord thy GOD which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.  

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.  

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them; for I the Lord thy GOD am a jealous GOD, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me:

And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep My Commandments.  

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy GOD in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless  that taketh His name in vain.  

Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy.

Six days shalt thy labor, and do all thy work:

But the seventh day is the Sabbath, of the Lord thy GOD; in it thou shalt  not  do any work, thou nor thy son, nor thy daughter,  thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.

For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea,  and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: Wherefor the Lord blessed, the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Honor thy father and thy mother; that thy days may be long, upon the land which the Lord thy GOD giveth thee.    

Thou shalt not kill.  

Thou shalt not commit adultery.  

Thou shalt not steal.  

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.  

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house;  Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbor's.  

And all the people  saw the  thunderings , the lightening,  and the noise of the trumpet, the mountain smoking, and when the people saw it they removed and stood afar off.

And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with  us,  and we will hear; but let not GOD speak with us, lest we die.

And Moses said unto the people, Fear not for GOD is come to prove you, and that His fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where GOD was.

And the Lord said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

Ye shalt not make with me  gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.

An alter of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shall sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine  oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.

And if thou wilt make me an alter of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.

Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine alter, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.

Noteworthy:

According to a Spokesman of Christian Computing; Young children can get too much of the computer access,  just as they can get too much T.V. viewing.   He said that, young children are losing their social communication  and writing  skills because of the long periods of unsupervised  computer use.  

It was thought that the children  were getting better writing skills, until the actual result of ‘computer time,' was calculated and comparatively analyzed.  What they found is:

Young children were now increasing in weight. They brought the idiosyncracies and short cuts learned from chat rooms to their compositions in school.  I.e. "Lol" means, laughing out loud; "u" for you; "i" for I; "c" for see; etc. Toxic materials are being viewed without parents knowledge.  

Parents, go to the WEB site and get more valuable information about how to limit your child's time on the Internet and to make his time safe.  There is a program which shuts down after a designated amount of time determined by you for your child.  

Did You Know?  
The place where Jonah preached, and converted the whole city was Nineveh.  Remember?  Well that place was where  the sons of the dictator were found recently.  It was said that this same city, at one time, was predominantly   Christian.  But, through the years, Christians were persecuted and slain, so that what remains is whatever is there now.  

GOD and Alla are NOT the same.  GOD has a Son, named Jesus Christ.  Alla has NO son.  Many Christians who witness, don't know this very critical fact, and thus their witness to certain groups is weak and without factual basis.

FRIDAY'S WORD: machination; mach*i*na*tion (noun)- a crafty, or treacherous plot;  a secret plan for accomplishing, a usually evil or unlawful end; a malicious scheme

IN THE MIRROR:
Her name is Madeleine L'Engle. She writes this in," The Answer" Bible, pertaining to
"Spiritual World."

"What accounts for all the anger and horror in the world around us?  Where are the angels? Can they come if we refuse to believe in them?  What accounts for the darkness in human hearts as the world becomes more and more secular?  Why are people turning to drugs for comfort rather than the Light of Love?   I don't know the answers to these questions.  But I do know that wherever the light is, the darkness tries to snuff it out.  Perhaps all the terrible things that are happening are indeed a sign that the Spirit of Love is abroad, that more and more of us are turning to this forbearing, and yet ferocious power who pushes us into doing what we don't think we can do, who gives us courage we never dreamed we had.  

I take the devil and his machinations seriously indeed.  One thing which we can count on the devil to do is to take the original good which GOD created, and try to make something ugly out of it.  Sometimes he succeeds--- though that does not make the original good any less good.  There are people today who play with the powers of love, who take them trivially, who seek easy answers.  

There are no easy answers, but I think we need to be aware that if we deny the world beyond the world of technology and provable fact, we do so to our peril.  George McDonald said, ‘The miracles of Jesus were the ordinary works of His Father, wrought small and swift that we might take them in."

This was written by her prior to 1993, but on the surface it can look like she could have sat down and wrote as she viewed the world here in 2003. God's word is from, "Everlasting, to Everlasting." Through that knowledge alone, we can build such a formative understanding about our own spiritual composition.


I'm getting excited already, but I'm going to desperately try to compose myself at least until I can get a few more things written down here so you'll think I might know what I'm talking about.(Ido hope you're smiling)

In order to give a clearer picture of my joy, I have to share a personal testimony with you, and hope in the name of Jesus that it will be infectious to every Christian, or if you're border lining on making a decision to follow Christ, I pray this will reel you in the rest of the way.

It must have been perhaps four weeks ago, but whether I live another day, or a decade I never plan on forgetting how Dr. Charles Stanley looked straight into the television audience and told countless of viewers, "I Don't Worry About Nothing!"

How, and Why that simple statement affected me so much is simply this: I consider myself to be a very practical thinker, and I figured you have to know a whole lot about the Bible, and even that much more about the Person of JESUS CHRIST, to make such a proclamation when you know the whole world may be watching you.

Am I trying to emulate that kind of faith? YES! Do I pray your desire is to go there with me? YES! Do you believe that when the man of God gave his message that Sunday morning he expected you and I to feel this way? ABSOLUTELY!!!  There's the shout
right there!

The only reason I understand the Word of God, because it's clear. It's not clear when I want to rebel, disbelieve, or walk in any type of disobedience. There's no confidence in that. No, it's no way. It doesn't work that way, and we ought to thank God for making it so clear along with the other admonitions for our own spiritual welfare.    

While Madeleine L'Engle alludes to the fact, "There are no easy answers," I have to agree with her findings because it is likewise my experience, so what do I do?!

I fall back on what God did make so ‘easy,' for me, and so accessible. Some of you have already guessed....It's the CROSS of JESUS CHRIST.

TAMI'S  STEW

2LB   POT ROAST.  
1   CAN TOMATO PASTE.
1 TBLSP BUTTER & 2 TBLSP FLOUR (THICKENING)  
2   CARROTS CUT UP LARGE
2 CELERY STALK CUT UP MEDIUM.  
½   WHITE ONION CUT UP OR SLICED.     
½ LB.    FRESH SNAP GREEN BEANS
1LB   BABY RED POTATOES  
3TBLSP OLIVE OIL
SEASONINGS:  
SEASONING SALT; SALT AND PEPPER; BASIL; GARLIC; GARLIC PEPPER; THYME; OREGANO AND SAGE.   


DIRECTIONS:

3TABLESPOONS OLIVE OIL IN DUTCH OVEN 6 QUARTS  - TURN HEAT ON HIGH UNTIL HOT .
PUT IN CHUNKS OF POT ROAST; FRY ON BOTH SIDES
SEASON WITH SEASON SALT,  SALT AND PEPPER
BROWN ON BOTH SIDES REMOVE FROM HEAT  - DRAIN OFF FAT.
1TBLSP OF BUTTER AND 2 TBLSP OF FLOUR; THICKEN THEN ADD WATER SLOWLY.  ADD BASIL, GARLIC, GARLIC PEPPER BLEND THYME, OREGANO, AND SAGE.
BOIL FOR 20 MINUTES; THEN ADD 1 SMALL CAN TOMATO PASTE AND ANOTHER QUART OF WATER.    LET SIMMER FOR 10 MINUTES.  
ADD ALL OTHER VEGETABLES; COVER  AND TURN DOWN LOW FOR ABOUT ONE, TO ONE AND A HALF HOURS.
