TER BORN SAVED?

 John 3:1-20; Romans 10:9-12.

If you've never been out witnessing on street corners you'll never know the joy of leading a stranger to Christ.  Recently, we've indulged ourselves with this joy and satisfaction.  We decided to share the experiences and some of the quite common responses to some of our introductory questions.  We hope that this brief outline will help you to be bold in your witness for Christ, Jesus.  GOD Bless – TER

Q:   Do you know Jesus?
A:  Yep, sure do.

Q:  That's good.  Have you asked Him to be your Lord and Savior?
A:  No.  You see, I've been saved all my life.

Q:  All of your life?
A:  Yep.  All of my life.

Q:  What did you say when you got saved?
A:  What do you mean; what did I say?

Q:  Well the Bible says that "If you believe with your heart, and confess with your mouth, then you will be saved."  So, what did you say?
A:  See, my mother…

Q:  That's your mother's salvation.
A:  My father is a preacher's kid, and he was…

Q":  That's your father's and your grandfather's salvation.
A:  My Grandmother was a Deaconess and was buried with honors.  She was the first ordained deaconess in the Church's history.

Q:  I'm glad to hear that you have had such a great ancestry, but that too, was your Grandmother's salvation.
A:  I'm part of the family.

Q: Are you?  You've told me about the salvation of all of your ancestors, but you haven't as yet told me about your own salvation.  Have you had a moving experience with Jesus Christ?  Have you asked Him to be the Lord of your life?  When you were born, you were born in sin, according to Psalms 51:5; Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

A:  No.  When I was born all of my family members were already saved.  That's why I am saved.

Q:  I've met many young people like you, who believe as you do.  Your belief system is not grounded in Christ.  You know about Him, but have never taken time to ask Him into your own heart.  You see, belonging to a family only takes being born into it.  You can even be adopted into a family and have all of the privileges granted that family.  But being naturally born into a natural family doesn't guarantee spiritual safety. According to the Bible, Jesus Christ was explaining this very thing to a man named Nicodemus.  Would you like to know what Jesus told him?

A:  Yes I would.

Q:   John 3:  1-7;
"1There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again…"

A:  Nicodemus seemed to have the same problem that I have.  Boy!  That's amazing.  Jesus took time to tell him about being Born Again.

Q:  Yes.  Jesus came just so that people like you and me and Nicodemus can make the choice to live forever in the safety of GOD'S Kingdom  .  Would you like to pray with me, and invite Jesus to be the Lord of your life?

A:  Yes.

Q:  Say this after me.  "I believe that Your Word is true which says: 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness, rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.  John 3:16-20.
Do you believe this?

A:  I do.

Q:  Let's continue:  "8But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Romans 10: 8-11.

A:  I feel so good;  but now I don't  know how I could have been so blind as not to see the truth.  Thank you for helping me.

Q:  This quickening that you feel, is the power of GOD.  Don't condemn yourself for your past ignorance.  Jesus has washed away all condemnation.  Remember?  ‘There is now no condemnation, to those in Christ Jesus.

A:  I don't mean to cry; but I just can't help it.  Thank you…

Q:  Don't thank me.  Thank Jesus for His sacrifice made this meeting possible.  Do you belong to a Church?

A:  Yes, I do.  I'm going to start going regularly, because I've got to tell someone about Jesus.

Q:  Why don't you try telling someone out here?

A:  I'm not ready for that yet, and anyway there's plenty of people in the Church who need just what I got out here.  Thanks for the tract.  I hope that I see you again.

Reader, how many people have you led to Christ?  How many people have you turned from looking down into an eternity of torment to…

Looking Forward
See Ya Next Time

NOTEWORTHY:
" It is not enough to say, I must live a godly life— that is a given. It is not enough to say, I must be a witness for Christ— that is a given.  Beyond these two, we must be salt and light in our culture, helping people to realize that the GOD of the Bible is our only hope."
"The Journey Home; finishing with joy"  Bill Bright(went to heaven July 2003)

"Give me a passion for souls, dear Lord,
A passion to save the lost;
O that Thy love were by all adored,
And welcomed at any cost."

IN THE MIRROR: "Less Understanding in an Age of Knowledge."
Wilfred Hahn writes a comprehensive article in September's issue of ‘Midnight Call Magazine,' 2004 edition.(read entire article if possible)
Here are a few paragraphs from his article this month:
"The Bible's View on Knowledge' The Bible has the first and last word on knowledge: "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world." (Psalm 19:1-4)
Knowledge has always existed. It has never changed and finds its complete genesis in God and His physical creation. Knowledge of eternal significance concerns the knowledge of God and His purposes. The only thing that has changed is man's understanding, and more importantly, mankind's willingness to understand. And the Bible says that understanding begins with the recognition of God's sovereignty and truth: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline" (Proverbs1:7).
Scripture allows no excuses for lacking this type of knowledge. All of creation points to God: "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse'(Romans1:20)"
I'm hoping you'll look at ‘Friday's word' (knowledge), and how Wilfred Hahn writes pertaining to knowledge, and see some sort of contrast. Jesus Christ came at a very primitive time. Look at it with me if you will. He came into the earth, born of a virgin, when there were no televisions or radios; no electronic or mass  media; no satellites in the air capable of carrying information around the world; they didn't even have a ‘pony express' that I've ever heard tell of; . . .  No, His message was transmitted, put into effect and communicated by MAN. The POWER in the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ can never be obliterated, because in the wisdom of God, He made His work PERFECT in Jesus Christ going to the CROSS, and He is continuing to perfect that work in us and every following generation to come after us.
Here's a challenge for you to think about. I know and have known some of the most beautiful people you will ever want to meet. You can make this same testament. You're going to pass one day, that's a given. When you leave here, do you believe for one minute that you won't leave a legacy for someone you loved and who has loved you? Neither did  JESUS CHRIST!
God Bless.           SLC
