MOTHER’S DAY 2010

A very familiar sight, in the market place a young child, pacifier intermittently in place, seems frustrated by the long walks, and the disturbance of other shoppers, suddenly bursts into sincere tears of frustration and exhaustion. . You can feel his helplessness, his frenzied attempts to quiet himself, and his hopeless surrender to circumstances more overpowering than his young mind can comprehend. His only hope is to raise his weakened arms in surrender and cry out…”Mommie, Mommie.”

Out of nowhere, a beautifully strong arm reaches down and scoops him up; cradling him close to her warm chest. The once lost pacifier is in place again, as the young child rests his head on her shoulder. As soon as his head rests on her shoulder, he breathes a sigh with a small hick cough. There are no more tears and the Comforter brings peace to the anguished child and the mother who continues to shop until her task is finished.

Won’t it be grand, Readers, when we finally raise our tired arms, sigh our last pitiful cry…Abba Father, and be scooped up in that Majestic Arm, leaving this weary world of suffering, pain and frustration behind?

Remember His Word tells us : Psalm 91:14-16.

14 “Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.”

Our Mommy taught us a love we could feel,

But His Love draws us closer still. TER

Have a Blessed Mother’s Day!
